Back from Vegas.  This year I didn't win any money, but I had a great time seeing my Uncle who I had not seen in over 10 years and his wife, as well as making some new friends.  We saw some of the World Series Poker elimination tournaments (poker is not my thing, but I was drug through by my sister), and enjoyed some lazy time, as well as saw Cher live.  All I have to say in regards to her is, I wish I looked as good as she does NOW, let alone when I am her age - LOL.  Now that I am back from vacationing, I am gearing up for all our new upcoming programs and classes, as well as finalizing the Marketing Train System E-book to go into published form (hopefully in August or September).

 

This month I want to talk to you all about using a Call to Action in your marketing.  Many of us forget that when we are giving value in our marketing, that we need to let people know how they can engage with us.  A Call to Action is a great way to motivate those who are ready, to further engage in our service without high pressure sales techniques.  So don't miss this month's article talking about the types of Call to Actions, as well as some ways you can utilize them.  Dolly gives you a great tip on handling life's challenges, and Jerome gives you a great software to help capture images off the web.

Stop dwelling on the negative. Think of your problems as opportunities. Is there something you can do to change the outcome? If so, create a plan and work on the plan until you have succeeded. Spend time every day looking for an opportunity to move you closer to your dreams.

If you find you’re up against something that you can’t change, then put it away and leave it alone. Spend your time and energies counting your blessings.

Soon, you will find you are welcoming life’s interruptions!

Marketing Article – Using a Call to Action

 

I want to talk to you about a strategy that many Virtual Professionals are afraid to do, but is vital to your marketing, and truly is something that your potential clients want, a "Call To Action." Put simply, a “Call To Action” (CTA) gives your potential clients a reason to act now. Using occasional CTAs will dramatically increase your sign up rates. This is because many, many people delay their decision-making unless you give them a reason to act NOW.

As we have talked about previously, your services are a gift, and without getting people to sign up for consultations, you can’t spread the wealth of your gift to those who need it, so a CTA will help encourage them to take advantage of the awesome service you provide.

Let’s start with some examples of CTAs:

Selling Against a Price Increase CTA
Example: The price for your services/packages might go up to $400 per month beginning January 15, but people can "lock in" at $350 per month if they sign up now.

Special Bonus CTA
Example: Sign up for services by December 15th and receive a free – regularly $XXX!

Sense of Urgency CTA
Example: This Virtual Professional service will fill up quickly. Register by 5pm on January 3rd to guarantee your spot.

Exclusivity CTA
Example: I have a few openings for my virtual professional services and am looking for 3 new clients who are looking to free up their time while potentially doubling their business in the next 6 months.

Notice how most of these CTAs have a specific deadline? Presenting a “limited time offer” gives a potential client a reason to make a decision and take action now.

Many people have good intentions to buy your product or service, but there are always reasons to prolong their decision: lack of money, family priorities, work challenges, not the right time, etc., etc. Typically their attitude is, "Hmmm, that sounds interesting. I'll think about it." Then, guess what happens? Life gets in the way!

The CTA creates a need for people to act and make their decision NOW. Good CTAs give people a compelling reason to act right away.

When using CTAs, please do not think that you are being "salesy” or manipulative. (And if you do, GET OVER IT! :-)

You are actually doing yourself and your potential clients a favor... You are cutting through the clutter and helping them make an intelligent, educated, thoughtful decision.

Ultimately, one of two things will happen. People will either take you up on your offer, or they won't. But when you use a CTA they will think more deeply in order to make a decision. Even if they pass on your offer, at least they thought about it and declared their decision, rather than allowing it to clog their mind.

It’s human nature to procrastinate and “think about things later.” Using a CTA, especially those with a limited time offer, gives people a reason to think and act now... Win-win for everybody!

Summary
I encourage you to use CTAs as part of your long term marketing system. Try different approaches and see what works for you. (CTAs can be effectively used 2-3 times / year or more in some cases.) I virtually guarantee you will notice an increase in business when you do this. And let me know how it goes!
