Marketing Article – Getting Specific and Filling Your Business – Part 2

Last month I talked about getting specific and clear on your target market.  This month, I am going to continue this discussion by looking at the Benefits of Focusing on a Target Market and creating a more defined WHAT you do to service them.

BENEFITS of Focusing on a Target Market

1. You can find these people and then reach out to them.

2. You can craft your communications directly to them. They think, "She is talking to ME" when they read your material or interact with you.

3. People spend time with like-minded people. Their friends and colleagues will also need/want your professional services and these people can refer to you.

4. You can/will "get known" in this area. The "deeper" you go in one particular market, the better.

Imagine taking EVERY marketing avenue that you currently utilize and directing your efforts to this particular group of people... Imagine how much more effective and powerful it will be.

The next concept is WHAT you service these people on. This is a whole new topic to be discussed later, but for now, imagine servicing...

- Women entrepreneurs on marketing
- Independent service professionals on attracting more clients
- Stay-at-home parents on supporting them with their home-based business
- Overworked high-tech executives on achieving more balance
- Stay at home mothers helping them rediscover their beauty

The list goes on and on!

Please know that you can always broaden your scope LATER! You can and will apply the same marketing techniques to reach other target markets/niches in the exact same manner! People are unique and bring their own set of goals, issues, challenges, obstacles, and dreams to a virtual professional relationship.

In addition, you will discover that your services will expand once you start your business. For example, one client may need support with his data software while another will need support around creating strategies and staying in action. One may have obstacles around scheduling with clients while another may need to work on responding to e-mails.

As I've said before, there is a big difference between marketing your virtual professional services and "doing" your virtual professional services. You identify WHO you service and WHAT you service these people on so you can target your marketing efforts, maximize your resources and generate more interest. The bottom line is that you WILL fill your business faster when you get specific.

So, if you haven't already, please identify your WHO and WHAT and focus your marketing efforts to these people! You'll be glad you did!

Computer Tips from the Computer Guru – OH NO! My Phone Fell In Water!!!

Many of you get your mobile phone wet by one way or another. You worry as you mistakenly drop your mobile phone in water. It can also get wet if you are out in a heavy rain. (Which we are getting a lot of lately!)  However, there is no need to panic. It is possible to save your wet mobile phone by quickly repairing it. In order to save your mobile phone from water damage, you can consider these easy and simple solutions:

Act Quickly:

The first thing you have to do in order to save your wet mobile phone is to act quickly. Remove all the detachable parts as well as covers possible such as the back cover, battery, the SIM card, memory card etc. Next, take a piece of cloth or a tissue paper to wipe the excess water you are able to notice within the mobile phone. Make sure that you dry it completely. If you don’t do this, the water inside the mobile phone will begin to evaporate and gather in places which will be difficult to reach.

This will save your wet mobile phone and it will start working if it was under water for just a little while.

Using a hairdryer:

Take a hairdryer and begin drying the mobile phone while giving more consideration to the place where the battery is located. The battery housing usually consists of tiny holes to let in air (so giving more space for water) inside the mobile phone.

Make sure that you are not holding the hairdryer very near to the mobile phone. Keeping it too close to the mobile phone may harm the electrical mechanism of the mobile phone. Keep on drying the mobile phone from a safe distance for about twenty to thirty minutes.

If solution number 1 and solution number 2 don’t work, try solution number 3.

Drying for a long time:

Take off the covers as well as battery from the mobile phone. Put the phone in a dry as well as warm place to let the water inside the phone evaporate gradually from the little holes in the mobile phone.
